Five global organisations, whose frameworks, standards and platforms guide the majority of sustainability and integrated reporting, announce a shared vision of what is needed for progress towards comprehensive corporate reporting – and the intent to work together to achieve it.
The explosion of reporting practices is a natural reaction to the desire for things to change – for companies to be accountable for their impacts on the economy, society and the environment and for value to be created for all stakeholders.
Recent data published by CDP shows that the CDSB Framework is now in use by 314 companies with a combined market capitalisation of US$ 4.2 trillion.
Listed entities in Australia will now be asked to disclose whether they have material exposure to economic, environmental & social risks.
The European Commission has proposed that existing accounting legislation on environmental and social reporting be amended.
